I was on holiday on Arran when I suffered a brain bleed because of a brain tumour. From the initial call to paramedic service on Arran I have had the most excellent care ever experienced (I am from North East England).
The ambulance had to contend with floods, sheep, deer on the roads in the pitch black, this they did efficiently and professionally. Lamlash hospital were so caring and reassuring at a terrifying time for me and my family.
I was air lifted off Arran to Crosshouse Hospital. Again I cannot praise the staff enough for their care. I have felt treated like a person not a number. I was on ambulatory care then transferred to ward 3E (stroke care). Fantastic dedicated doctors and nurses. Have not had such care in England despite efficient hospitals. They do it all here. Feeling confident that the right procedures are being put in place to be transferred back to England with hopes of the best outcome for my return to health. A big thank you. I am keen to tell everyone how well you are doing.
