"Stay in Ward 8 following Orthopaedic Day Surgery"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Maternity unit Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I had an operation in day surgery to repair what turned out to be a fairly shattered humerus. As there was no room in Orthopaedics, I was moved to Ward 8 (maternity) where I remained for 3 nights and then overnight (my last night) to Ward 6. The care I received was exceptional. Each staff member was excellent - kind, caring, informative - and the ward was exactly the sort of oasis you need to recover. Night times were kept as peaceful as possible with lights dimmed to a safe, relaxing level. This is exactly how a hospital should be run giving every opportunity for a speedy recovery. Bravo to all the caring nurses there.
