"Staff not using my preferred name"

About: Millbrook Mental Health Unit / Lucy Wade Unit

(as a service user),

I've asked staff to call me by my preferred name. I was told I will call you the name on my list which is my name but I've gone by my middle name since the age of 5 years old. I'm sick of all the staff that get my name wrong and on pointing out this to staff I was greeted with rude response and another member of staff joined in to make me in the wrong! I made a complaint to someone who said they were in charge of the ward which was not true.

Dear ospreyhc46

Thank you for your posting and im very sorry you have had this experience. I have contacted Orchid ward and LWU at Millbrook unit and spoken with staff on those wards about patients names and requests to be called what they wish.
Should this continue please request to speak with the ward manager or the charge nurse on the ward, I am unable to identify which ward you are posting from but if you require to discuss this further with me my details are posted below.

I wish you well in your recovery
