"Referral from the Dr"

About: City Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I saw a Dr and he suggested I should be referred to Cardiology. I went for a follow up appointment at the Doctor's (unrelated to Cardiology) and he reiterated anyway he'd referred me.

The following month I called the hospital and they have no detail of any referral. I called the Doctor's and they said they weren't sure what happened and they would refer me again.

Two weeks later and the hospital have still received nothing. I feel let down by my doctor and not listened to. I have been given excuse after excuse that made no sense.

I have been told I need to wait until my doctor comes in tomorrow so she can re-refer me again. I don't have expectations this will happen.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that your GP has not referred you and therefore our team at the Trust will be unable to book you an appointment until this has happened. Once your GP has sent the Trust the referral then an appointment will be booked. Kind regards, Toby Lewis, Chief Executive.
