"Good and bad type of day"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Oesophageal Lab

(as the patient),

I was asked to attend an appointment at Hairmyres hospital recently and it was a good and bad type of day, first of all I had to spend 40 minutes driving round every car park in the hospital to find a space it was on my 6th trip round the car parks I managed to eventually find a space , I would love to know who taught some of these people how to park!

I got to my appointment with Michele clinical physiologist (not psychologist) 10 minutes late because of this luckily the girl I was seeing was more than understanding and was so pleasant and very cheery. after a rather unpleasant test when I was being given my instructions about how to operate the device I was given to take home to bring back the next day.  She did say that if I was getting dropped off I would only be 5-10 minutes the next day so we wouldn't have to go hunting for a car park space.

on my return the next day it was the junior Jordan that seen me and took the probe out for me and dealt with my device I had he was lovely as well before I knew it he had the probe out for some reason I expected it to hurt. I'm glad it didn't

the laugh that they two had was unreal you could tell that they work well together and seem to have a great bond and respect for one and other - minus the wee digs at each other (all in good humour of course)

every hospital should have staff like this it would give the NHS a better name and have more people turn up for their appointments

:) all my best

Dear Rose51,

Thanks very much for taking the time to post about your experience undergoing investigations in the Oesophageal Lab at Hairmyres. I’ll pass on your thanks to Michelle and Gordon who will be delighted to learn that they made your experience as pleasant as it could be.

I sympathise with you about the difficulty finding a parking spot. This can be a really frustrating experience, especially if you are trying to keep an appointment.

Kind Regards,

Cameron
