Our son had an appointment at the dermatologist today, my wife and I took our son to the appointment.

Our son is 18yo & profoundly autistic . He likes the doctors and he was very excited and noisy. The staff on reception picked up on our son’s disability immediately and sent a message to the consultant & kept us informed that he wouldn’t have a long wait.

Quite soon afterwards a nurse took us through to the consulting room explained that the consultant was writing up notes and the consultant met with us soon after.

The consultant was excellent, they addressed our son directly and gave him the chance to share his views ( not that our son had much to add). They were then very patient listening to our concerns even though our son was very noisy & continually interrupted.

This was the best autism friendly service we have ever experienced. We just wanted to write to you to let you know that it was much appreciated and the whole team were superb.
