"Not Good"

About: Shotley Bridge Hospital Site

What I liked

not a lot

What could be improved

I attended the minor injuries unit at Shotley Bridge after slipping on ice with an injury to the back of my head that would not stop bleeding. After approx 1hr 20mins when the young person who had registered about 3 after me was called in before me I questioned the receptionist who said I was checked in .I understand there are priorities and it was busy , but, my husband had overheard this person checking in and "she had hurt her wrist on the Friday night by punching someone" I am sorry but a 59 year old with bleeding head injury would seem to most a little more urgent. I saw no point in causing a fuss and the bleeding had almost stopped so I just told the receptionist I was leaving.

I have attended the unit before and had no problem. However on this occasion I feel the person "prioritising" got it a bit wrong.Head injuriesMinor injuries unitReception staff
