"My mother's treatment"

About: Victoria Hospital / Outpatients

(as a relative),

The nurse who admitted my mother into Ward 1 Out Patients Royal Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy was extremely kind and reassuring to my mother who has dementia and was beginning to become anxious thinking she had missed her name and appointment. The Doctor took note of the fact she had dementia and came out to speak to her and discuss the treatment rather than ask her to wait, then treated her first so that she didn't have to wait. Everyone was very kind and she was none the worse for the surgery and in good spirits afterwards.

Dear CarolAnne

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience of attending the Out Patient Department with your mum. We know this to be an anxious time for patients and I appreciate that with your mother's condition anxiety can be heightened. It was great to hear that your mother was treated well and I will be delighted to pass your kind comments on tot he staff within the Out Patient Department.

Regards

Louise
