I attended the Urology department 8 November for the fitting of a penile implant.
Afterwards I awoke to extensive oedama in the genitals. The following day the surgical team attempted to deflate the prosthesis on a number of occasions.
This was the most extreme pain I have ever experienced!
Deflation was not achieved.
I was unable to urinate after catheter was removed.
So it was refitted and I was discharged, with an appointment to attend the Surgeon's clinic a week later.
I have been at home 3 days now and there is no reduction in the inflammation and the pain level is maxing out 12 or more on the pain scale. The Codeine does not seem to even duil the pain a little bit.
I feel that I have abandoned to my own devices with no guidance on what to do.
I cannot contact the surgical team directly, nor can I get in touch with my local consultant who initiated this surgery at UCLH instead of at Southampton General.
