About: Mayfield Medical Centre

Yet again the complaints are about not being able to book appointments, failure to get through to the practice by telephone and the reception staff. I have read the managers responses to those that they choose to respond to however this is not addressing the problems. Yes it is a problem booking appointments and yes the receptionists can be short and abrupt but handled correctly this could be rectified. Mayfield has become an overly busy practice which isnt keeping up with the patients requests for appointments etc. The doctors are fantastic and on the whole the staff are good but this doesnt help resolve the issues.

I am sorry that you had to submit this feedback.

We are doing all we can to address the number of available appointments and my response to a previous feedback included the non-attending rate which has a substantial impact on the number of appointments we are able to deal with.

I believe most of the points you have raised I have responded to in a recent feedback response so feel it isn't necessary to repeat again.

However I find it prudent to reflect on what you have said along with other feedback submitted,

Many of our issues are borne from a national pressure on GP surgeries and we are doing what we can to address those patient concerns.

Practice Manager
