"Shocking!"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

What I liked

Nothing!

What could be improved

Communication between staff members. More staff. Organisation. Staff training on empathy and compassion towards patients rather than just rudeness.

Anything else?

I was past onto the early pregnancy assessment unit after attending A&E with heavy stomach pains whilst being pregnant. After a 3 hour wait to see a doctor I was told I had a potential ectopic pregnancy following on from this I was then told I would have to go back home and wait for a phone call the next day as all the staff who were able to do scans had gone off sick. The following day I recieved a phone call to go to the hospital for the scan but unfortunatly they did not know what time I would be seen as all the slots for the scans had been filled and would therefore have to wait for a cancellation. I waited for a hour for a scan which was inconclusive. As a result I had to have a blood test to assess my BHCG levels. I had to return on Saturday for a second set. On the Saturday I asked when I would recieve a phone call about my results. I was told within 24 hours. Sunday afternoon came and I still had not recieved a call so I phoned them and was informed that in fact no one was there on a Sunday and I would recieve a call on Monday morning, So Monday afternoon came and still no phone call so again I phoned them. I was then informed that I would now not recieve my results until Tuesday. As a result I went back to queens to sort this out personally. When I got there I spoke to the senior sister who was rude and never gave me any time to tell her the situation I was in. She said I would recieve my results first thing tuesday morning and checked the book to see if my details were written down to be contacted, to my surprise my details were not. It is now tuesday at 12pm and I have still not recieve my results. I phoned them and been told i will recieve my results by the end of the day. While all this is going on Im still in pain and still have a potential ectopic pregnancy. In addition to this I have not been able to attend work due to the pain and having to attend the hospital constantly and waiting for these results.
