What I liked
All the staff from the clericals to the students to the dentist who extracted my tooth were friendly, efficient and understanding.
As my first visit to the dentist in a long time I was made to feel at ease
The treatment I received was first class.
I was registered, checked and treated all in the same day.
The TV in the waiting room was a nice touch and helped to pass the waiting time.
What could be improved
The hospital opens at 9am which was the time I arrived, however what I didn't know was the walk in centre actually opens to the public at 7:30 am but doesn't start any treatments until nine. If this was advertised on the website then I would've definitely got there earlier.
The waiting times are very long although you are informed of this and the service is free so it's probably not something that can be 'improved' just be prepared for a long day.
After my initial consultation I was told to return at 15:15 to have my tooth taken out. By being given a specific time I was under the impression I would be seen immediately however it was another case of waiting for over an hour. It also seemed that I could have returned earlier than that by looking at the waiting room.
Anything else?
Highly recommended to people needing urgent dental treatment but are apprehensive about visiting a dentist.
