About: Scarborough General Hospital

What I liked

The fact that I would never be an inpatient there again by choice.

What could be improved

I was a day case surgery on Ash Ward and 7 pattients arrived at the correct time to have to wait in reception for over 2.5 hours as there was only one bed despite the fact all our surgeries were pre booked.

I had to share a bed with another persons belongings for an hour or so whilst this person went to theatre and then the bed was mine.

I was taken to theatre by a theatre porter who was brilliant but the only person to help her was the admin clerk as the nurses were so busy, this does not sound right no health and safety basis.

I had problems with pain medication and this was resolved by a fantastic nu.rse thank goodness, but I began to feel that I was asking for something I was not entitled to.

I do not blame the staff at all as my experience was terrible, they are overworked, they did not get their breaks, they had far too much to do at the same time and they must have been frustrated as they were unable to do theri jobs.

I will never go back to Scarborough hospital again.
