"Hydrotherapy at Wishaw General"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Physiotherapy

(as the patient),

I got the referral via my GP and an appointment came through very quickly.   I've been allocated a block of 6 sessions that gradually build up repetitions of exercises with a warm up & cool down incorporated into the programme.   Feel so fortunate.

Hi again Madge51

Noticed after reading your comments again today that you mentioned about the improvements you had suggested in terms of the tiling poolside and changing rooms. Just to let you know we had plans to action changes already and are currently acting on that with the team to upgrade.

Many thanks again for your post

Claire

Update posted by Madge51 (the patient)

Thanks for the response Claire. Paul advised us that the pool would be closed for 3 days this week and I guess that's why. Its great that the facility will be up & running so quickly afterwards.

Regards

Marie

Another good session yesterday but the planned work that closed the pool for 3 days didn't take place. The physio who takes the sessions is away on a course next week so lessons are cancelled. Is there really no one else that can take over? Its not as if I can practice at home in the meantime. Might it be a good idea to have at least two folk who can undertake this function so that holidays, sickness and other unplanned absence is covered?

Hi Madge51

Glad you had another good session in the pool yesterday. Unfortunately the repairs that were planned did not go ahead due to unforeseen circumstances but I can reassure you that this will be rescheduled as soon as possible. I apologise for this not happening. Can I also apologise for your treatment being cancelled while your therapist is on Annual Leave. We do have other staff trained for the pool who have their own clinics and their patients would have to be cancelled if they were to step in to cover of the pool sessions so not an easy fix unfortunately. Staff training is vital for the service to improve and we aspire to provide the best possible service for the people of Lanarkshire.

Thanks again for posting your comments

Claire
