"Walking Away from Diabetes"

About: Bromley Healthcare / Diabetes service

(as the patient),

I attended the group educational session at Orpington Fire Station.

I found this course to be highly educational and extremely motivating. The Course Leader was brilliant and really knew her stuff and treated us as intelligent adults.

Previously I had attended some of the sessions of the National Diabetes Programme but found it difficult to continue with for a number of reasons. Firstly it was over a very long period and was not interesting or motivating enough for me to maintain attendance. It also seemed to be aiming at a much lower level that the Walking Away from Diabetes session which really taught me all I needed to be fully informed and motivated in a way in which the longer programme did not,and as a one off session.

Thanks for the Walking Away from Diabetes programme, it has really helped me.
