The whole process, from initial meeting with the consultant to the procedure a few weeks later, went very smoothly.
A day was arranged for preliminary tests which were carried out efficiently by helpful, amiable staff in a relaxed and friendly environment.
One might feel a little anxious on the day of the operation but again the staff made it all feel so normal and matter-of-fact.
I was actually laughing and joking with the theatre staff as they prepared me, then … I was gone!
Post-op was just as relaxed, with initial help from physiotherapists and very regular nursing checks several times a day.
I'm looking forward to the next hip job.
