About: West Cumberland Hospital

What I liked

I was treated on 11th September in the A & E dept and cannot speak too highly of the care and consideration I received. i had broken the top of the left humerus in a fall near Buttermere and was in a considerable amount of pain. The nurse who dealt with me could not have done more or dealt with my case any better even though the department was overwhelmingly busy. They were considerate , kind , efficient and kept me and my husband informed at all times.

I should like to say a very big thank you to all concerned in my care and treatment.

It was exemplary. I should also like to tell Andy I hope his knee improves and thanks again

Firstly, may we apologise over the length of time it has taken for us to respond. We have just changed the way we do this and we are very sorry that after you contacted NHS Choices, we are now only just providing a response. However, many thanks for letting us know that you felt the care provided by our A & E department at West Cumberland Hospital was very good following your fall at Buttermere and that the staff also kept your husband fully informed. The experience of our patients is very important to us on as it helps us to understand what matters the most to our patients and also identifies areas for improvement. Once again, our sincere apologies for not getting in touch with your sooner than this.
