"I arrived at A&E at 8am on Monday..."

About: King's Mill Hospital

What I liked

I arrived at A&E at 8am on Monday morning, was quickly seen by a lovely nurse, followed by a very kind doctor. I was taken to EAU a within a couple of hours and by that evening was up in ward 22 with my own room and ensuite. The privacy was very much appreciated. For the rest of my weeks stay, I was treated with kindness by all the staff. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

What could be improved

I was given a rather embarassing invasive examination while on EAU with only the curtains round my bed. I felt the doctor could have been more discreet and maybe kept their voice down as there were other patients and their visitors around.

Thank you for your comments. We are very proud of our 'new' hospital and its facilities, particularly the en-suite single rooms.

With regards to your comment about privacy and dignity on EAU we will ensure that the ward leader and Head of Nursing for Emergency Care are made aware of your thoughts.
