I have been very impressed by the midwives as a whole especially in labour and postnatal ward our midwife during actual labour was fabulous and I was very happy with our room.
So, I do have a little grievance about our experience in the antenatal ward we had been in the hospital for 7 days. We came in because of high blood pressure on a tuesday, on thurs after been given 2 pessaries started to feel pains down below, at around 6pm-7ish my girlfriend felt that she had possibly had a show or her waters breaking. She was only 1cm dilated. Before the pains but after hours of pain we asked to be examined to confirm if waters had broken and or if she was any more dilated. We were told we'd be seen at 9pm. after hours of pain the doctor came at 2am said we were the same dilation and didn't mention the waters.
Now my issues with this is that we were overlooked and not taken seriously. We were brought to labour ward on sat morn where we found her water had already broken she was the same dilated and I feel there was a women that was in labour ward nearly 24hrs after she should have been all because someone thought they knew better.
We were left too long and that situation should have been dealt with better.
