I was recently admitted to DGRI with a broken ankle and shin bone. I was immediately shocked and very scared due to being the only visit I have had to hospital apart from childbirth.
I was faced with the most wonderful staff especially a young nurse called Nicole and an auxiliary by the name of Allan. Throughout my stay I was given all the information I required and was kept up to date with my health and what I was to aim towards.
I was in a shared room with 3 other women who were 40 years plus on my age but the staff always kept all of us positive. I ended up having an operation and the staff in the theatres were outstanding calming me in my time of need.
I would like to take this chance to thank each and every member of staff in ward 16 at DGRI. You all do a truly exceptional job and go above and beyond what is detailed in your job descriptions.
"Broken ankle, amazing care"
