"This is such a busy ward"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

1. My care plan.  I sometimes am asked to be involved but a lot of it is signed and done in the office.

2. I sort of feel cared for, but this is such a busy ward and a lot of staff time is taken up with the patients that are more mentally unwell and the ones that are more well get less time and it's hard to get time with your care team.

3. I wouldn't say I'm happy with it but it's OK.

4. More ward activities, more sapphire garden access to do gardening.

5. The day care services are good but I feel there's not enough offered they only allow us 2 and some of us need more.

Thank you for wanting to have a more actie role in your care and treatment. We believe that if you and your colleagues are involved in planning and shapng your care and treatment you will have a more psitive experience of our services. We also believe that you will be able to progress faster along your treatment pathway. I shall therefore reiterate in meetings the importance of named nurses being allocated adequate time to care. The outcome of releasing more time to care is for nurses to provide support when you are in distress and to help you to build the resilience and confidence to manage your own care and move on to a lesser secure setting.

In addition to sharing your opinions on this website, I would also recommend that you and your colleagues actively participate in other forums that enable you to design and influence your care and service delivery. These forums include being involved in surveys, ward community meetings and the Division wide Patient Involvement and Experience Group. Feedback from these forums contribute significantly in revieiwing and consistently deilvering quality of care and a patient-led meaningful day care acitivity programme.

I am delighted to inform you that more time has been allocated to gardening in the winter day care services programme to support patients to prepare for the festive celebrations.
