"My first ultrsound scan"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

I was recently seen at the Royal Sussex Hospital for my 12 week scan and had such an incredibly positive experience I would like to share it and hope those involved get the recognition they deserve. I was seen promptly by 2 amazing ladies Jane and Jenny who were very personable and reassuring. I was very nervous but they put me and my partner at ease immediately and soon we could see our baby jumping around on the screen. As an older mother I was particularly worried about the NT measurement but our little one was not cooperating and was just not staying in the right position. So we  went for a walk and when we came back tried again. After about another 20 minutes the baby finally stayed in the right place and we got a good view and accurate measurement. Throughout the experience (which totalled about 40 minutes with a break in between) Jane and Jenny were chatty and talked to me like a 'normal' person. They were incredibly professional and informative as well as funny. The whole experience was brilliant and I came away feeling very looked after and reassured. Could not recommend them enough and a big thank you to them and their team for the outstanding job they do

Thank you for your message and for your very kind words about the care you received at our hospital.

Such feedback is greatly appreciated by our staff and I will, of course, share your feedback with them.

With best wishes
