"Endometrial biopsy"

About: The Royal Glamorgan Hospital / Breast Care

(as a service user),

The whole procedure was very painful, and I reacted badly. I was taken good care of at that point, the nurses were lovely. However the department couldn't seem to be bothered to let me know my results. I phoned repeatedly over the course of 3 months, to eventually be told I'd been discharged. Discharged without being informed or being told whether I had cancer or not!

I felt extremely anxious for 3 months then, when I found out I'd been discharged, thoroughly disrespected and cast aside.

Thankfully I don't have cancer, but it looks like they weren't going to bother to inform me. I complained and have received an apology.

Cwm Taf Health Board' s standard of patient communication falls well below the standard required by NHS Wales, the GMC and NICE. Don't stand for it ladies.

May I begin with apologising for your negative experience of our services and the delay you encountered in receiving your results. I was pleased to note that you have received an apology for the distress caused. If you wish to discuss further please contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Officer on CTUHB_PALS@wales.nhs.uk
