I may be 90 but I am not stupid. To be put in a ward with people who all have dementia was extremely distressing, and this was made worse by staff who spoke to me as though I, too, was senile. Unfortunately I am not very steady on my feet and have to walk with two sticks. When I asked, twice, for help carrying my toiletries to the bathroom I was told to wait a moment and the member of staff promptly walked off the ward. The cleanliness of the bathroom also left a great deal to be desired. Lastly, I had a sum of money taken from my wallet. I was treated by the staff as though I was stupid and didn't know what I had in my own wallet.
I dread ever being so ill that I need to be admitted here again.
