"Truly grateful to you all"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I had a normal cold off my kids and one night found it hard to breathe.

I remember spending a long time in a n e then starting to fail I was being sick but what I thought was a small amount later found out was bowls full of it.

I was rushed up to another ward I believe and then up to itu

I was extremely ill lucky to be here, I had pneumonia and sepsis

I am 1 of the lucky ones that remembers little of it tbh

my kids were told I was going to die they were having to plan my funeral

but I proved them wrong 6 weeks later with the help of all the doctors and nurses and whoever else helped I am truly grateful to you all

Dear Jackie,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your posting.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your admission to A&E and ITU at Good Hope Hospital.

I am so pleased to read that although you had been seriously ill, you made such a good recovery within 6 weeks.

I can appreciate that it would have been an extremely worrying and emotional time for you and your family. The A&E and ITU staff do indeed do an amazing job and it is lovely for the staff to receive the recognition for their hard work and dedication.

I will forward your posting to the senior management team for A&E and ITU and ask that it shared with the staff, as I am sure they will be absolutely delighted to read your positive comments.

Once again thank you for taking the time to provide your comments, as all patient feedback is very important to us.

Best wishes

Miss J. Langham

Patient Services Officer
