"My own experience as a service user"

I have been in need of adult social care for a number of years. Surrey has allocated my care to a service provider/s. Over the last couple of years the standard of care provided has deteriorated at an alarming rate. The majority of care workers have been polite and pleasant though some could not speak English.  One carer from Eastern Europe could only say hello and good bye, she was lovely but hard work! My current service provider only allocates 40 minutes when Surrey pays for an hour, carers will not help me with my laundry as it contains my niece's clothing as well.

Communication skills can be zero, no conversation. Carer's work loads are so heavy traveling long distances. My current service provider sends carers all the way from London. No wonder the quality of care given is low, they are probably exhausted. I do not blame the care workers but the providers, taking service users onto their books for which they cannot cover, employing people who are inappropriate to be left on their own. I can stand up for myself, others can not. Last time I complained the provider gave notice. I have just raised a concern with the current provider, let's see if it happens again.
