"My School Nurse"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / School nursing Kirklees

(as the patient),

I was the worst behaved child in my year group or even school at the time, drugs, alcohol, even inappropriate images of myself distributed around my school, I was in a shocking place running away from home in trouble with the police, I was also a developing anorexic and self harmed then my pastoral leader and safeguarding leader made a referral in year 10 and im now so much better than I was thank you so much for the help.

My role at Locala is to listen to service users and understand how it feels to use our services. I report back to services and managers. I support to make change where needed. I really enjoy my job. Making a difference is important to me!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us. I am going to forward your feedback to the school nurse team leaders, I know they will be happy to hear that you are in a much better place:)

If you would like to tell us more about your experiences when using our services in more depth please send me a text on 07852353587 and we can arrange to discuss further. We have an area on our website for young people to gain advice and info. It maybe that you can support other young people when you feel ready that have experiences similar to yours. It also maybe that we can understand what worked well for you when seeing our nurses and share this learning across the other teams:)

Thanks again

Emma.
