I had a follow-up appointment letter to attend and no real clarification of what the appointment was about. I assumed it was to discuss the bloods I had taken at my previous appointment.
The Dr began by saying So, we are here to discuss your Premature Ovarian Failure and what HRT you will need, which was the first time I was made aware of this diagnosis. I burst into tears, to which the Dr replied So why does that upset you?
As I am in my mid-30's and wish to expand my family, it was obviously upsetting especially the manner it was delivered, and I thought the Dr handled the situation very poorly and their bedside manner needs some looking at.
However, the positive which came out of this was my then referral to the counsellor, who was kind, caring and compassionate and made me feel so much better about myself after an hour in their company and I look forward to future appointments with them.
