"My pregnancy and birth story"

About: Rochdale Infirmary / Maternity Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I went to rochdale antenatal clinic for regular scans for baby growth. The extra new scans are good but made me anxious about the baby's weight, the information was confusing. I have had a c-section as it is my 3rd time. The staff have been brilliant as I was scared about the needles, the midwives, doctors and everyone has been reassuring. I think I bled a lot but not sure but I've had a blood transfusion. I am now on the postnatal ward and it is great. I have had lots of help the midwives are friendly. My partner has stayed every night I don't think I could of coped without him.  What could be improved? Food for partner

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback about our maternity service. Growth scans are offered to women who have certain risk factors with the aim of reducing stillbirth but I am sorry to hear that you felt anxious because of these extra scans. If you contact me directly at the email address below with your details I am more than happy to look into whether or not you had a blood transfusion. It is good to hear that you found our postnatal ward great and benefited from your partner staying over. At the moment we provide breakfast and refreshments for partners who stay over but welcome feedback with suggestions to improve our service. Thank you.
