"It all helps to escape from the ordinary ward life"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

I am part of the Sense of Community project on Canterbury Ward at Rampton Hospital.

1. Getting involved in things around the hospital. Being able to effect change. Contributing to the local community. It all helps to escape from the ordinary ward life and helps us to cope better generally and with our mental health.

2. The amount of money injected into this project - how far will it go? At the moment, we don't have enough to achieve many of our ideas. How can we access the resources to use in building our garden ourselves? More direct involvement in what actually happens.

3. More evening meetings to plan this project and future projects would help.

Hi There,

Thanks for the posting and talking about your garden project. Alot of patients have reported how good the project is and how it makes them feel. I'm really pleased its helping you feel you are achieving something and feel a sense of community.

The money is limited but we are looking at what we can support and some creative ideas of how we can make things happen which may not cost so much. The fact your motivated is great. I have already from another post requesting evening meeting approached your ward manager to see if they can support this. I'll keep you up dated

Good luck with the garden
