"We have to have more patients involved"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

I am part of the Sense of Community project on Cambridge Ward at Rampton Hospital.

It's good to attract more wildlife e. g. birds. Thinking of raised beds. It gives me something to do. Studying plants and taking out books from the library. We are trying to encourages bees with foxgloves.

I think we need more money and we need to get things going. With groups having two weeks off it has delayed things.

We have plans but so far no action. There were 8 patients interested but now only about two actively involved. I am interested in growing watercress for some funds.

It could be improved by having 2 sessions a week instead of one - question to management, is this possible? Once we get the bird table and mint in it, the project will get started.

We have to do something to attract more patients to get interested in the project e. g. more fresh air, something to keep them occupied such as plants for their rooms.

The plans for the garden look great and fantastic that so many people are interested in this. I know Glen, your OT, is working hard to get things going and he has spoken to the managment team about some additional funds to improve what you already have.

As for additional sessions, I think this is something that can be organised by the two wards involved and do this on a evening with ward staff. I will speak to your ward manager to see what can be arranged.

Good luck and I'll look forward to seeing the progress.

Regards
