Following a blood test result, which gave cause for concern, I was referred to Ninewells Hospital, last October.
In the 8 months between now and then, I've had numerous appointments within various departments. On no occasion, did I have to wait more than a week or two, to be seen.
I've had an MRI scan, biopsies under local anaesthetic, biopsies under general anaesthetic, a 6 month course of hormone therapy, a bone scan, a CT scan, and today is the last day of a 4 week course of daily radiotherapy. I've also had blood tests, ultrasound scans and been prescribed medications to ease the side effects of treatment.
I won't get the official result until early August, but the signs are, that my cancer has been successfully cured.
At all times, I've had access to specialist staff, and been able to phone or walk in for help and advice. I've been treated with respect and kept fully informed, throughout. My treatment has been delivered quickly and professionally, by the most excellent NHS staff, I could have asked for.
So, thank you NHS Tayside.
I couldn't have wished for better treatment!
You do an amazing job, in the face of austerity and cuts.
It's 10/10 from me.
