"Extremely poor diagnosis"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was taken to A & E by 999 ambulance with acute abdominal pain on 15th June.

The only test to find a diagnosis was a quick urine dip test.

I was told I had a mild water infection and sent to Medoc without even a pain killer.

After waiting at Medoc for several hours I received a thorough examination by a doctor, and was told a mild water infection would not be causing such pain.

I was then sent to the emergency assessment ward and after proper tests and a CT Scan I was informed I had a 9mm kidney stone.

On Friday afternoon I had an emergency operation to insert a ureteric stent.

I am now awaiting a further operation to deal with the kidney stone and remove the stent.

In my opinion A&E has no idea how to perform a diagnosis at all, and needs to be better trained in how to do a diagnosis.
