"A trip to the children's ward"

Our 4 year old was referred by our GP urgently to see the consultant on ward 15. We arrived and had a lovely welcome from Ann who instantly put our wee one at ease and addressed him when asking for details (name, age etc) Dr Stevens was very thorough and again directed all conversation to our wee one making him feel listened to! We had contact with radiology department during our visit who were just as fantastic! As we were there longer than expected Ann made sure that our wee one had everything he needed including some lunch and stickers galore! Communication was fab and everyone we met went out of their way to help with anything we needed and each department explained the procedures in detail to offer reassurance and to ensure that our 4 year old understood what was happening. The staff we met today are a huge credit to NHS Borders, well done and thank you! : -)
