"Meals for Patients"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital

(as the patient),

I feel that the portion sizes for me were too small, especially because I am a diabetic there for the portion size was too small, at lunch I used to get a 3 course meal from the old hospitals, and better carbohydrated items could improve better for both lunch and dinner's.

Dear Diabetic Person

I am sorry to hear that you felt the portion sizes were too small.

The menus form part of a three week cycle and have been analysed by the dietitians as part of the Food in Hospital standards.

A standard portion is supplied for all patients at the point of service. If a smaller or larger portion is required the patient should notify the housekeeper when the menu choices are being made, this would then be recorded and advised on the service report. This would also be the case if three courses were required at lunch time as this is a 2 course service but a third course may be chosen. The evening meal consists of three courses.

I acknowledge that your experience has left you with a negative view of the service which I would like to apologise for.

We welcome you’re feedback and should you wish to discuss further please do not hesitate to contact me.
