Fell off my bicycle, and broke my wrist. Went to Western General Hospital. Was seen, accessed and X-rayed promptly.
They were very good with me as I'm deaf and lip reader, they took their time to communicate with me clearly.
I was put in a cast and came back the next day for a operation, I was one of the first to be operated on, within the hour of arrival after a couple of careful and thorough assessments, and my needs and specifications for example how did I would like to be woken up considering I'm deaf.
The operation went smoothly, the Orthopaedic surgeon did an outstanding job, she did warn me the risk of infection, nerve damage and weakness/stiffness. Thankfully. My wrist is brand new!
Did a few weeks of physiotherapy, back on bike!
"Took their time to communicate with me clearly."
