Just over week ago, I went to Hairmyers A & E, I had a numb feeling on my upper lip and a droopy right eye. I felt the analysis and treatment was first class and I was treated with consideration as it looked they were looking at a having to treat a stroke. After a stay overnight the diagnosis was given as Bell's Palsy.
It took nearly two weeks for the facial paralysis to subside, during this time I was troubled by a large abscess on the back of my arm. On this Sunday morning at 08. 00 hrs I went to Hairmyers A & E and after triage was seen by a doctor who introduced himself. He did not ask any questions but he did say that I should not be in A & E, no analysis, no diagnosis. There was no listening, just a hectoring attitude that I think showed he had jumped to conclusions. I felt demeaned by this attitude. I had made a judgement, that because this abscess was developing, I needed input from a medical professional in the middle of a bank holiday.
So, one good experience and one bad, but this could be made better with better feeling and professionalism from certain A & E doctors.
"One good and one bad experience"
