"Family benefit from your amazing treatment too"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiac Catherterisation University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

My husband had a heart attack at the wheel of our car. I was in the front passenger seat I had to crash the car into a lamp post to stop. I then had to get him out the car and start CPR.

The ambulance arrived and took him to our local hospital Hairmyres, where he spent 3 weeks. They decided he was a good candidate for CRTD treatment and he was transferred to the Jubilee and within 4 hours of his CRTD procedure what a difference in him. His colour changed, he pinked up, I got him home on the 23rd of January.

Unfortunately the top wire dislodged requiring another visit for a repair. He was home the same day. I am so grateful to The Jubilee not only for helping him but for giving us both a quality of life.

As a wife of a patient with a heart issue it's not just the patients who benefit from the amazing treatment you give but the whole family Thank you all from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Dear Heart Health

Thank you so much for using Care Opinion to tell us about your husband's - and your - experience of attending the Golden Jubilee National Hospital.

Becoming ill very suddenly can be a very daunting experience, and we can only imagine how scary this must have been for you both. We are delighted to hear that your husband is doing so well.

Thanks also for your kind comments about our heart and lung services. As these are designed to help patients when they are most in need, it is wonderful to hear how you feel this has helped your whole family as well as your husband.

Best wishes from all of us here at the Golden Jubilee.

Kind regards,

Christine

Dear Heart Health

Thank you for taking the time to enter such positive comments of your and your husband's experience at Hairmyres Hospital.

It is always good to receive feedback and this will be shared with all the teams involved in your husband's care. We appreciate that it not only the patient but families and carers who require support during an admission and I am pleased that this was your experience and that you felt supported. Thank you once again for taking the time to post.

Best Wishes

Margaret
