My son had suffered a head injury playing at a relative's house. There was a deep laceration to his forehead and his poor little face was covered in blood. He was stressed, scared and I think a bit in shock.
We attended Aberdeen children's A&E at around 10pm on a Saturday night. We didn't have to wait at all and were greeted by a lovely nurse called Emma. She explained everything to my son, showing him each item from the gauze to the glue and was very, very good with him, putting him (and me) at ease quickly. We were there for no longer than 60 minutes and left with a much relieved little boy and 5 stitches.
We'd both like to thank Emma and all the staff at children's A&E for the work they do, both the physical wound dressings and the emotional support.
"Fantastic Children's A&E service"
