On arrival at the hospital I was immediately given an ecg and subsequently checked for height weight and blood pressure. The cardiologist then saw me and it became apparent that he had no knowledge of the background of my problem, this was despite having been sent to Tameside hospital by ambulance from the doctors both of which recorded me in at.
A few weeks later I was admitted to Tameside by ambulance once more as I had collapsed at home three times. I was subsequently kept in for two nights during which I had at least one witnessed by a doctor. Weeks later I fitted with a monitor for 24 hours. Upon seeing the cardiologist eleven days later he did not check the results saying they would not be ready yet. I was left having to prove that I was going into afs and had to have another echo scan which I had already had at my own doctors, as there was no record of that either. I find it unbelievable that in this day and age of computers that the A and E department and doctors do not talk to one another via computers which is very simple. I must point out that the level of care that I have received both by the doctors and ambulatory crew and Tameside has been to a very high standard and feel that this a let down in the system. This is not a complaint but an observation on the system and I hope you will take on board my constructive criticism. Thank you for your help during my illness.
