I called to get an emergency appointment for a painful throat that iv had the past 2 weeks. I have also discovered a painful lump on the roof of my mouth. I was then told by the receptionist that the doctor will only treat 1 problem as this is only a 5 minute slot. The same thing happened a few weeks ago with another member of my family attended a regular appointment with the GP and tried to explain another problem with the Dr only to be told he would have to make another appointment for this to be seen. This in my view is an utter disgrace. Why can't a doctor treat all your problems at once without causing any further distress and discomfort for the patient having to wait for another appointment. This needs to change. A lot of people I speak with are of the same opinion that the doctors have no time to spend with you and everything is rushed.
"Why can't GPs treat more than one issue?"
