My wife and I just wanted to pass our thanks and compliments to all the teams we have encountered over the past 9 months at the RVI. Our journey began with our 12 weeks scan and due to some elevated risk features, we required further input from the Fetal Medicine team. The service has been exemplary, showing the right balance of compassion and professionalism throughout our pregnancy. The team have seen us through some difficult times; the care from everyone including healthcare assistants, midwives, secretarial staff, receptionists and the doctors has been fantastic.
We were lucky enough to be able to complete our pregnancy and naturally chose to have the baby at the RVI's delivery suite. Once again, the service has been fantastic. The organisation of the elective caesarian list was excellent and the midwives who checked us in and subsequently looked after us were extremely professional and pleasant. The anaesthetic staff (including the recovery team) were brilliant too, keeping the situation controlled and calm.
We finished our journey on ward 32, whose team I couldn't compliment highly enough either. Each midwife who looked after us was patient and approachable and the support staff were universally friendly and eager to help. Like many, our stay was largely determined by our confidence in establishing effective breastfeeding; we were coached and encouraged extremely well and this helped us to accelerate up that learning curve.
All in all, it has been a pleasure to have experience antenatal and postnatal care here and I must compliment all the staff involved on the service they have provided. Many thanks indeed.
