I gave birth in the birth centre and had a fantastic experience there - all staff were very approachable and helpful. However, baby had some problems so we were readmitted to the Edith Dare ward, and I did not have a good experience there at all. I had so much conflicting advice about breastfeeding! When my husband asked a midwife to help me, the response was 'it's your baby'. However, the paediatrician and registrar were great.
