"Hourly checks gave me peace of mind"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care)

(as a parent/guardian),

My Daughter fell on Monday night and suffered a serious blow to the head resulting in head injury and serious concussion.

We want to say that the care we received on arrival at kids A&E was phenomenal and all staff made us feel reassured and that our daughter was safe. I didn't get name of nurse who cleaned up my daughter. She was amazing, gentle but very thorough.

We were then admitted to assessment unit for the night where Shonah and Hannah cared and treated my daughter for her concussion. Hourly checks carried out and gave me peace of mind.

I was made to feel welcome and cannot thank RACH a&e and the staff there enough for their care and attention. Massive thanks to all who dedicate their lives to caring for us in a stressful environment.

Thanks very much for taking the time to post this feedback. I hope that your daughter is now doing well and feeling much better. Head Injuries are potentially serious and I'm glad that you felt reassured by the care and attention shown to you and your daughter from A&E through to PAU. Staff try very hard in often difficult circumstances and are grateful when their efforts are acknowledged so thank you for your positive feedback and I will of course share this with the relevant departments.
