Went to A&E three times in a week due to severe abdominal pains and vomiting The staff nurses in A&E were brilliant much more than can be said about Larch D ward. One senior staff nurse was extremely abrupt with both myself and my wife. Saying firstly to my wife who are you? We don't allow visitors this time of day when all my wife was doing was carrying my stuff up to the ward for me. The second time in the ward I went with no food or water practically all day. If it wasn't for my wife asking for me for some food would have had nothing. Was back on the ward 2 days later where they finally decided to do a ct scan and found I have a bad hernia expected to be released that day but was told they were going to operate on me the day after so went again without food only for them to decide they were not going to operate on me after all. Had to ask on a few occasions for food and drink till I got some. Senior nurse expected me to swallow my painkillers with no water. When my wife came to visit same nurse flung the bed curtain round and asked what the problem was quite abruptly as we are both frustrated with the way things have gone, and we had asked for an explanation. Didn't even put the correct details on my discharge summary letter from the ward as it was just a reprint of a previous days. I think there's no communication between staff and no doubt will be back in hospital with more pains soon. I was made to feel like I was a nuisance and it's all about the bed space
