My 85 year old dad was admitted in January after collapsing.
Various tests carried out, all came back normal, was told he would be sent home with a 6 day heart monitor and not to drive until the results were back.
He wasn't sent home with a monitor, had to wait for an appointment, 2 months later he went to have one fitted to find out it was broken and they didn't have another.
Was told he would have to wait for another appointment, eventually they gave him a 24hr one which we are still waiting to see if the consultant will accept.
Try to ring secretary to speak to someone, only get answer machine and no one ever rings back.
Its a complete joke.
My parents are both disabled so cannot walk very far, I work and am their only daughter so the stress on them being prisoners in their own home because they cannot get out unless I can take them food shopping, and the stress and guilt on me because I cant take them out more is like I said a complete joke.
13th January he was admitted to hospital, it is now the 7th April and we are no further forward getting to find out if he can drive.
Noone seems to think this is important to elderly people
