"Outstanding professionalism and cohesion at Highbury"

About: Highbury Hospital Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health (inpatient)

(as a relative),

Dear Team,

I felt that I wanted to write to you all.

During my partner's home leave, he has been sleeping very well and has controlled his anxiety. The biggest test was attending a funeral of a close relative which he “survived” and handled extremely well. In summary, he has been good.

Can I just say that I want to express my grateful thanks to the whole team, including the crisis team who have been excellent in looking after and helping him. The professionalism and cohesion at Highbury I believe to be outstanding. Please ensure my comments are passed on appropriately to all concerned. I just have one request that with regards the administering may partner's antidepressant during his stay at Millbrook which was administered incorrectly, that this could be followed up by yourselves to ensure it doesn’t happen again, via your team as neither my partner nor I wish to complain. Once again, thankyou for your care of my partner.

Dear willow358

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, feedback is always welcomed and important, so thank you again for taking the time to post this on patient opinion.

I am so pleased to hear that your partner's home leave has gone well and that he is sleeping much better, sleep is so important to aid recovery, especially when you are feeling anxious. I also think this probably helped with how your partner managed to cope or "survive" the funeral of a close relative, it is positive that he handled this well, it sounds that you also offer your partner much support and kindness, so I think you should also take some credit for his recovery so far.

I am extremely pleased that the staff at Highbury including the Crisis team have been able to support you both and the care received has been cohesive, professional and outstanding. I will ensure that I feed this back to the teams involved.

You have also requested that the incorrect administration of your partners anti-depressant medication is followed up to ensure this doesn't happen again. In order to follow this up I will need some details of the incident, I hope you feel that you can discuss this with me.

Once agin thank you for sharing your experience and best wishes for your partner's ongoing recovery.

Kind regards

Ruth
