About: University Hospital Ayr / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Was referred to Mr Large, orthopaedic consultant in January. Need both knees replaced. Operation took place at University Hospital Ayr in March 2017. From the pre op staff, the porters, theatre staff, recovery room, to the staff on station 11 and physiotherapists were brilliant. Their professionalism, care, thoughtfulness was exceptional. They are each and everyone a credit to their profession and themselves. The ward was spotless. The food was exceptional. Best porridge ever! I was most apprehensive on admittance but those fears were soon assuaged by the response of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Mr Large you are an exceptional surgeon and have a fabulous team around you. I cannot say in all honesty I was looking forward to having my other knee done but am now completely at ease with the feeling following my experience last week. Many many thanks.
