"No water available in A&E"

About: Whiston Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a carer),

Service and treatment were good at A&E.

My issue was there is no water available to patients or visitors in the A&E waiting room to drink, I wanted to give my mum her medication. The receptionist informed me that the water in the toilets can be used but there are no cups. I ended up purchasing tea at £1. 70 to give her medication.

Also they could do with a sandwich machine we went direct to A&E from the GP had a teatime appointment and had nothing to eat since lunchtime, I had been in work all day and only chocolate or crisps in the machine. The café's had closed at 8pm. We arrived at A&E at approximately 6. 45pm and left at 9. 45pm.
