"You could see the pressure but the staff rose above it"

I had to attend the unit yesterday for the removal of a lump on my neck under the surgeon Mr Dempster, Consultant Surgeon ENT. All I can say the he is a first class surgeon and so are his theatre staff very professional and very caring and this is from people who are under pressure to provide results with limited resources. Once I had been taken care of in the theatre I was passed to the recovery team and let me tell you these staff are truly dedicated and that could be seen in their attitudes. you could see the pressure but the staff rose above it. So as I was discharged I thanked the staff to show my appreciation. I think this is why we need fewer managers in their little castles in the clouds and more of the staff on the frontline. Give these staff the chance to do the work without the pressure because I think if the management left them alone the staff dedication would produce the results. A first class environment.
